Arsenal new boy Declan Rice has hailed the attention to detail from Mikel Arteta whilst suggesting it’s like something he has never seen before.

Mikel Arteta has already impressed new Arsenal signing Declan Rice with his focus on the little details.

Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title last season but are hoping to go one better this time around.

The Gunners have invested heavily this summer, snapping up Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz and David Raya.

The hope is that Arsenal can take the next step forward and fans will of course be excited for a return to Champions League football.

Those new signings will be vital but so will the progress of manager Arteta, who will hopefully be better for last season’s title heartbreak.

Declan Rice praises Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta

The key signing is Rice, who has arrived from West Ham United in a deal worth around £105million this summer.

Rice has impressed early on with Arsenal, as was expected after such a big transfer.

The England international has now been speaking to Rio Ferdinand about life at Arsenal and working under Arteta.

In a video posted by TNT Sports, Rice shared that Arteta’s ‘finer details’ are simply on ‘another level’.

Rice has played for England at major tournaments and won a European trophy with West Ham but he believes Arteta’s approach is like nothing he’s ever seen before.

Rice highlighted that there is simply no excuse not to perform at Arsenal as Arteta gives his plays absolutely everything to prepare for games.

“I think it’s just the finer details of what he goes into,” said Rice. “On a match day, there’s no excuse. You can’t say ‘oh we’ve not worked on this, we’ve not worked on that’, you’re given everything to the exact and it’s literally down to you then to go out and perform.”

“The finer details that you go into is another level, like I’ve never seen before,” he added.

Arteta learned his trade as a coach under Pep Guardiola, another manager known for this kind of attention to detail.

Arteta has taken all that he learned under Guardiola to turn Arsenal into a real force and, ultimately, Manchester City’s biggest competition.

Signing Rice was seen as a way for Arsenal to go another step closer to City and if he can take his game to another level under Arteta, Guardiola may be in a spot of bother.
