John left Rangers to join Swansea City on deadline day.

Declan John has posted a heartfelt message to Rangers fans on Instagram after completing a deadline-day move from Rangers to Swansea City, following the signing of Borna Barisic.
John, 23, joined Swansea after Rangers completed a £2.2million move to land Croatia international Barisic, after the left-back starred for NK Osijek against the Gers in the second round of Europa League qualifying.
It pushed Wales international John down the pecking order under Steven Gerrard, where he had already been fighting second fiddle to Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate Jon Flanagan.
John thanked Rangers fans on Instagram and said that he will fondly cherish his memories during a short spell in Glasgow which lasted just one season, after Graeme Murty turned his initial loan from Cardiff into a permanent one in January.
John played 34 times for Rangers from the left side of defence, and even on the left wing now and then. He scored three goals and created four, but failed to help the Gers achieve first or even second place for that matter.
He has now signed a three-year contract with Swansea, and could make his debut on Friday night with the Welsh side travelling to Birmingham City. The Swans were not in Carabao Cup action as they received a bye into the second round.
