Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed Declan John on loan from Cardiff City in the summer transfer window.
John has joined Rangers on a season-long loan from Cardiff City, and he has been used sparingly so far.
John has played just once for Rangers to date, when he created an assist in a 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle.
However, with Lee Wallace nursing an injury, the 22-year-old could be thrown in at the deep end and forced to start during Rangers’ upcoming match with Celtic at the weekend.
Whether John will get the nod remains to be seen, but the youngster seems confident that he will not be fazed by the occasion, if he is selected to start by Pedro Caixinha.
He said: “I thought the pace of the game was fast. Even the training we do here, it is bang, bang, bang, it is very quick.
“The Scottish games I have seen on TV are quick as well. That suits me and with some of the football we did play on Friday, we could have got a winner.
“The boys had won the previous two games but we showed again that we can play good football. For me coming in, I like to play that way.
“I want to play as many minutes as I can. We will just have to wait and see if I play against Celtic. The only game that I have watched on TV is Rangers and Celtic. I haven’t got much other knowledge of the football up here.”
Rangers failed to win an Old-Firm derby last season, with Celtic dominating the clashes between the two Glasgow rivals.
Celtic have continued this season in impressive fashion, and remain unbeaten in domestic competition since Brendan Rodgers took charge.
However, Rangers have shown signs of improvement this campaign – and currently sit in third place in the Scottish Premiership table.
If Rangers could beat Celtic, they would close the gap to Rodgers’ side down to just two points.
