‘Decision soon’: Player claims Rangers have made him an offer

Mahmoud Saber has said that Rangers have made him an offer, as quoted in The Daily Record.

The 18-year-old winger has said that he can sign for any club as he is effectively a free agent, and has claimed that Rangers want him.

The Egyptian youngster has added that Valencia and Benfica are after him as well, and he has stated that he will make a decision on his future soon.

Saber told The Daily Record: “Because I have never signed a professional contract with Al-Ahly, I am deemed an amateur player and can sign for a new club for nothing.

“I have offers from Rangers in Scotland, Valencia in Spain and Benfica from Portugal as well as a big club in Tunisia. I will make my decision soon.

“I have European agents sorting my future and I hope to be in a position to sign for my new club shortly.”

Good signing for Rangers?

Saber is a very talented and promising young winger who has a bright future ahead of him.

Since the youngster is a free agent after leaving Al-Ahly, he will not cost anything in transfer fees and would be a good long-term investment.

The Daily Record has claimed that the winger has been likened to Liverpool and Egypt international star Mohamed Salah.

While Saber is unlikely to get into the Rangers first team at the moment, a year or two in the youth team would see him get ready for the senior side.

Steven Gerrard’s side are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
