Leeds United are set to take on Huddersfield Town in Championship action at the weekend.

Garry Monk has hinted on Radio Yorkshire that both Alfonso Pedraza and Modou Barrow will come straight into his first-team thinking at Leeds United.

The two deadline day additions have not had long to settle in at Elland Road, after arriving from Villarreal and Swansea City respectively earlier this week.

However, Monk has suggested he could throw the pair in at the deep end, ahead of Leeds’ match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

“They are available from the next game so… like I say, the whole team are going to contribute,” he said, when asked when Pedraza and Barrow would be involved for Leeds.

“We’ll have to select the right team for the next game, which is difficult. So we’ll see.”

Leeds United prove Alan Shearer’s latest comments wrong

It seems unlikely that either Pedraza or Barrow will break straight into Leeds’ starting line-up, given the Whites’ excellent form of late.

Swansea City's Modou Barrow looks dejected

Leeds have been strung together some brilliant results in the Championship of late, and Monk already has a lot of quality options in the wing positions.

Stuart Dallas scored for Leeds in their last match against Blackburn Rovers, which they won 2-1, and would be disappointed to lose his place against Huddersfield.

If Leeds are able to beat Huddersfield in the Yorkshire derby, they could close the gap on the automatic promotion spaces down to just two points.
