Pedro Virginia has announced on Instagram that he has left Arsenal.
The Gunners’ goalkeeper, who is brother to the club’s former youth shot stopper Joao Virginia, has revealed that he’s set to start a new chapter in his burgeoning career.
Virginia was involved in the Under-18 set-up at London Colney but it appears as if Arsenal have let him go.
Here’s how the 16-year-old said goodbye on Instagram:
It’s a setback for the youngster but he has a positive example to work towards, set by his brother.
Joao also left Arsenal in the summer of 2018 and Everton were quick to snap him up.
The 20-year-old is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Toffees, but he’s a very highly-rated prospect, despite a difficult loan spell at Reading earlier this season.
Pedro, a Portugal youth international, will hope that there’s brighter days on the horizon and life after Arsenal, as Joao has proved.
