Celtic fans have offered a mix reaction to an announcement by the club this afternoon.

The Hoops confirmed via their Twitter account that stand-in boss John Kennedy had promoted Stephen McManus to his first-team staff.

Kennedy has the reins at Celtic on an interim basis following Neil Lennon’s decision to quit the Parkhead club earlier this week.

And promoting former defender McManus seems to be Kennedy’s first major decision since getting the role of Lennon’s short-term replacement.

Here’s how fans of the Lennoxtown club reacted to the announcement on social media a little earlier this afternoon:

Kennedy kicks off his reign with a visit of Parkhead tomorrow.

Even if the 37-year-old oversees a brilliant few months in charge, Celtic still need to go for a experienced and decorated coach.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are looking unbelievable this season and the Bhoys’ hierarchy will want to nip their resurgence in the bud by reclaiming their title next term.
