Newcastle United star DeAndre Yedlin has warned his teammates that they must be prepared for the clash with Rotherham United this weekend, speaking to the Chronicle.

The Magpies travel to the New York Stadium on Saturday full of confidence after the midweek win over Norwich City.

They will be quietly confident of securing all three points against Alan Stubbs’ side, who currently sit bottom of the Championship after 10 games.

As Rafa Benitez’s side have already learned this season, though, there are no easy games in the division and Yedlin has warned his teammates they must be prepared.

“Every game is a big game, especially in this league. It can go either way,” he told the Chronicle.

“We have to prepared as it is a tough place to play. We’ll need to bring our best game. I know we can do that and will have a good chance of winning.”

A look at the stats makes it appear that there is only one way this game is going to go.

Defensively the Magpies have registered more won tackles and more won interceptions per game than their opponents their weekend.

Offensively they have also been superior, creating more big chances per game and also registering more shots on target per game.

Football is not stats alone, though, and Newcastle would be wise to put them to one side and ensure that they do their job on the pitch to make it a second win in a week.
