Newcastle United star DeAndre Yedlin has joked that he will try his best to bring Borussia Dortmund ace Christian Pulisic to St. James’ Park this summer.
Dortmund were in Champions League action against Monaco on Wednesday evening, playing the game almost 24 hours later than scheduled due to the attack on their team bus on Tuesday night.
Thomas Tuchel’s men still managed to take to the field to face Monaco, minus injured defender Marc Bartra, but fell to a 3-2 defeat in their quarter-final tie, as wonderkid Kylian Mbappe scored twice for the French side.
Another teenage sensation on show at Signal Iduna Park was Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, who was introduced at half time as Tuchel attempted to find a way back into the game.
The 18-year-old winger was a bright spark in the Dortmund side, but couldn’t stop his team from losing in a disappointing display after a traumatic week for the Bundesliga outfit.
Pulisic, who already has four goals and 13 caps for the United States at international level, has hit five goals and seven assists in 34 appearances this season, cementing himself as one of the top young talents in world football.

In November, the Daily Mail claimed that Liverpool were keen to reunite Pulisic with ex-Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, but any deal would have cost at least £25million, with Dortmund unsurprisingly reluctant to sell.
Pulisic clearly caught the eye on Wednesday night, as one Newcastle fan ambitiously asked the winger’s international team-mate and current Magpies star DeAndre Yedlin to help bring Pulisic to St. James’ Park this summer.
Yedlin joked that he will try his best, but given his burgeoning reputation and already massive asking price, the Magpies surely wouldn’t stand a chance of landing him – no matter how Yedlin attempts to sell the club, as they gear up for a return to the Premier League.
