Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham netted a brace as his side recorded a 2-2 draw against QPR in the Championship.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has admitted that he would be ‘amazed’ if Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham cut short his loan spell at the club in January.
The Sun claimed on Tuesday morning that the 21-year-old has asked his parent club to activate a recall option in his deal as he pursues a loan move to a Premier League side for the second half of the campaign.
Striker Abraham netted a brace for Villa on New Year’s Day as they recorded a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Steve McClaren’s QPR – a result which further dampens their promotion hopes.
After the match, Smith commented on the speculation surrounding Abraham potentially wanting to leave the club this month as he explained why he can see him staying in B6 for the remainder of the campaign.
“I am not worried [about losing him],” Smith told BBC Radio WM as posted on their official Twitter account. “The kids scored 16 goals for us, he’s enjoying himself, he’s developing as a player as you can see with his connection with the fans and the players.
“I believe Chelsea are happy with what he is doing here, I believe he is, so at the moment all three parties seem very happy with what’s going on. There is always going to be speculation. But I will be amazed if he would want or Chelsea or ourselves would want to upset that.”

Since his move to Villa Park in the summer, Abraham has played 19 league matches for his side, scoring 15 goals and supplying one assist in the process.
It takes Abraham’s goal tally in the second tier of English football to 38 goals in 60 encounters following his successful loan spell at Bristol City two seasons ago.
During the previous campaign, the Chelsea man was at then-Premier League side Swansea – he netted five goals as they were relegated to the Championship.
