‘Exciting’: Lee Hendrie shares what Dean Smith has told him about Aston Villa 24-year-old

Lee Hendrie has said on Sky Sports News (12:56pm, September 11, 2021) what Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has told him about Leon Bailey.

The former Villa midfielder has said that he spent time with Smith last week and spoke to him about Bailey.

The Sky Sports pundit has said that Smith told him just how exciting a talent the 24-year-old winger is.

Hendrie said on Sky Sports News (12:56pm, September 11, 2021): “I was with Dean in the week, and he was very excited with what he has got in the squad.

“He emphasised over the fact having Bailey back and available. He said, ‘What an exciting talent he is going to be’.”

Bailey joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.

BBC Sport reported that the Villans paid German club Bayer £25 million in transfer fee for the Jamaica international winger.

The 24-year-old has done relatively well for Villa so far this season in the limited minutes he has got.

The Villa no.31 has provided one assist in 65 minutes in the Premier League this campaign.

Bailey is a very talented and promising young winger who is quick and skilful, scores goals, and creates chances.

The winger scored nine goals and gave eight assists in 25 Bundesliga starts for Bayer last season.

Bailey also scored five goals and provided two assists in six Europa League starts for the German club last season.
