Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has suggested to the club’s official website that Everton-owned winger Yannick Bolasie will feature against Queens Park Rangers this evening.

Bolasie, who joined Villa on loan from Premier League side Everton in the summer transfer window, did not feature in the Championship match against Norwich City away from home at Carrow Road on Tuesday evening.

Villa manager Smith has suggested that the 29-year-old DR Congo international winger will be part of the squad for their Championship encounter against QPR away from home at Loftus Road in London on Friday evening.

Smith is also looking forward to the return of 24-year-old Scotland international midfielder John McGinn.

“Albert won’t be,” Smith told Villa’s official website. “He hasn’t been able to get out on the training field yet from having the knock on his knee. We will be without him.

But that gives Yannick the chance to come back into the squad. I didn’t think he made enough of an impact and I told him that on Saturday.

“He’s worked hard this week and had a really good training session yesterday and today so he will be available for selection tomorrow.

“John is back after five yellows. I’d suggest most of those will have been for over exuberance. He’s a high energy player – and a good player. We welcome him back.”

Pushing for promotion

Villa will be determined to bounce back from their defeat to Norwich away from home at Carrow Road in the Championship.

The Villans are 16th in the league table at the moment with 18 points from 14 matches, six points behind Norwich, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.
