Aston Villa earned their ninth consecutive league win yesterday.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 win away at Bolton Wanderers yesterday, and shared what he told his players during the half-time interval, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans made it nine wins in a row yesterday – the first time they have done that in 109 years, and they now sit in fifth spot in the Champions table, four points adrift of third placed West Brom and five clear of sixth placed Middlesbrough.
Smith has worked wonders since taking over at Aston Villa earlier this season, and many are backing them to secure promotion back to the Premier League via the playoffs.
The Villa boss spoke to reporters after yesterday’s win, and admitted that he wasn’t happy with his side’s first-half display, sharing what he told his players at half-time, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I didn’t think we were at our best in that first half. I thought we were slow on the ball. They sat behind the ball and made it difficult for us. The message at half-time was to move the ball a little bit quicker. I thought we did that – the 20 minutes after half-time was exceptional.
Next up for Villa is a home game against Millwall on Monday, and it would be a shock if they didn’t make it 10 consecutive wins, especially if they play like they did in the second-half at the Macron Stadium yesterday.
