Aston Villa won against Swansea City in Dean Smith’s first match in charge at Villa Park.

Villa won 1-0 at the weekend, to ensure that Smith got off to a winning start at Villa Park.
But the claret and blues boss feels that they still need to take more care in possession in the future.
He said: “I felt that we gave the ball away too cheaply, and we rushed it a bit. I said to the players that when we do get that lull in the game that we have to have our rest on the ball.
“We need to pass the ball well, which means you can get your breathing [right].”
Smith is likely to promote a style which encourages Villa to retain possession more than his predecessor, Steve Bruce.

By his own admission Smith has worked Villa’s players harder off the ball than on it in training so far though.
Villa are next in action this evening, when they take on Norwich City, as they look to make it two wins from two under Smith’s guidance.
If the Villans can get the victory, they could move up into the play off places in the Championship table, if other results go in their favour.
