Dean Smith has told Aston Villa’s official website that he will make a late call over whether Jack Grealish will start against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.
Villa and Spurs are set to meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday, in what will be the penultimate game of both side’s seasons.
Villa go into the game on the back of some poor recent results and are winless in three games.
But the sight of Grealish coming off the bench in their last two games has at least given reason for optimism at Villa Park.
And when asked if Grealish will be fit enough to start against Tottenham tomorrow, Smith responded: “Jack is training today and then we’ll have a discussion with him after and with the medical staff to decide on the progress of his recovery.
“We had a plan for his comeback for the last four games and we’ll adapt that in terms of how he feels and how much loading he’s getting.”
If Grealish does start for Villa then it will be a major boost to their chances of success against Spurs.

Villa look a far superior side with their key playmaker involved, and their recent struggles can be attribute to his absence.
Grealish will surely be keen to start, as he looks to recover match fitness before the summer.
The Villa captain is expected to be part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020, but his match fitness may not be at optimum levels right now, due to the length of time he has spent on the sidelines.
