John McGinn played well for Aston Villa against Bolton Wanderers.

McGinn – who joined the Villans from Hibernian in the summer transfer window when Steve Bruce was the club’s manager – featured for Villa in their Championship match against Bolton at Villa Park on Friday evening.
The 24-year-old Scotland international started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes, and manager Smith was impressed with the performance of the midfielder in their 2-0 win.
Smith told The Birmingham Mail: “I thought (John) McGinn was magnificent. He makes those runs all the time and you have to stop him sometimes and tell him to stand still.”

Stats
McGinn has scored one goal and provided three assists in 14 Championship appearances for Villa so far this season, according to WhoScored.
Against Bolton, the Scottish midfielder took three shots, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 82.8%, and had 47 touches, according to WhoScored.
The 24-year-old worked tirelessly, fought for every challenge and was also creative, and there is no surprise that he is already a firm favourite among the Villa Park faithful.
The win against Bolton on Friday evening means that Villa are now 13th in the Championship table with 21 points from 16 matches.
