Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has raved about goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on the club’s official Twitter page.
Smith has said that Martinez has been “excellent” since he moved from Arsenal in the summer of 2020.
The Villa boss has added that the Argentine goalkeeper admitted his fault for the mistake he made against West Ham United in the Premier League in midweek.
Smith has also said that the other Villa players appreciate the 28-year-old goalkeeper.
Big game today
Martinez is likely to be in goal for Villa this afternoon when they take on Arsenal at Villa Park in the Premier League.
It will be a big game for the Argentine as he will be playing against his former club.

Villa are having a wonderful season and will head into the match against the Gunners high on confidence.
With the likes of Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and John McGinn doing well at the moment, the home team will fancy their chances of picking up all three points from the encounter.
The Villans are in the running for the Champions League places in the Premier League table.
