Dean Smith praises Aston Villa defender Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has spoken highly of Manchester United-owned defender Axel Tuanzebe to the club’s official website.

Smith, who was recently appointed as the Villa manager, has said that Tuanzebe is a big prospect.

The 20-year-old defender joined the Villans on loan from Premier League club United in the summer transfer window.

The England Under-21 international – who earns £5000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Villa from United.

Villa manager Smith seems to be a fan of Tuanzebe and has spoken highly of the 20-year-old United-owned defender.

Smith told Villa’s official website about Tuanzebe: “He has got great pace, he is a big prospect. I have known of him anyway playing through the junior ranks at England and watching his progression through that, and he looks a good player.”

Tuanzebe is a very talented and promising young defender, but the 20-year-old has not played regularly for Villa so far this season.

The England Under-21 international has made 10 appearances in the Championship for Villa so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

During the second half of the 2017-18 season, the youngster played 300 minutes in the Championship for the Villans, according to WhoScored.
