Aston Villa brought Ahmed Elmohamady’s Egypt teammate to Villa Park this summer ahead of their Premier League return.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has spoken highly of new arrival Trezeguet, saying the Egypt international is eager to prove himself in the Premier League and praising the fact that he’s settled in and fitted in very well so far (official Villa website as quoted by the Birmingham Mail).
The 24-year-old midfielder became Villa’s ninth summer signing towards the end of July by signing from Turkish club Kasimpasa in an £8.75million deal, according to BBC Sport.
Trezeguet made four appearances and scored one goal at this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations hosted by his country, with the Pharaohs captained by new club teammate Ahmed Elmohamady.
“[Suso and I] built a really good trust between ourselves and we know the characters we want,” Smith told the official Villa website, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail. “Trezeguet, for example, myself and Suso went out to Egypt to watch him in the AFCON and we spoke to him.

“He’s got a real hunger and desire to prove to everyone that he’s a Premier League player. He’s fitted in very well so far, he knows Elmo already so the integration has been quite easy.”
Trezeguet, one of 12 signings so far for Villa (Birmingham Mail) started his career with Egyptian side Al Ahly before moving to Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2015, joining Kasimpasa two years later, and has 41 caps for the Pharaohs (Transfermarkt).
Villa, who overcame West Bromwich Albion and Derby County in the Championship playoffs to secure their spot in the Premier League alongside champions Norwich City and runners-up Sheffield United, will head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend as they look forward to their first top flight campaign since 2016.
