The Aston Villa defender was dismissed in the first-half after picking up two bookings against Rotherham.
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Bristol City at Villa Park tomorrow, and shared how something that Tyrone Mings did after Wednesday’s win at Rotherham United proves just how tightly knit his squad are, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans currently sit in fifth spot in the Championship table, one point clear of sixth placed Bristol City, although Lee Johnson’s men do have a game in hand, so tomorrow’s game is hugely important for both sides for obvious reasons.
And if Villa are to go up this season, Mings could turn out to be a crucial addition for them.
The 26-year-old moved to Villa Park on loan from Bournemouth in January, and he has gone on to make 12 appearances for Smith’s side.
He had one of his worse games on Wednesday night, however, and received a red card inside the first-half.
Smith highlighted how Mings joining in with the Villa celebrations after the game serves as evidence of the bond that his players share with each other, however, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“It was really good to see. He was celebrating out with the players despite his red card. It shows the culture here is right when the loan players feel the bond with the club.”
Mings will obviously now miss the clash with the Robins due to suspension, and Smith will be hoping that his Villa side can still get the job done in his absence.
