The Aston Villa midfielder has been in fine form this season.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith spoke to reporters after yesterday’s win over Blackburn Rovers, and praised the performance of John McGinn, labelling the midfielder as a ‘terrific’ player, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
The 24-year-old experienced a tough international break with Scotland, but he returned to somewhere near his best for Villa yesterday, teeing up Tyrone Mings for his side’s winner.
McGinn joined the Villans from Hibernian in the summer of 2018 for around £2.75 million, according to the Times, and he has gone on to rack up an impressive five goals and nine assists in 34 Championship outings thus far.
And Smith talked up the quality of the Scotland international when speaking to reporters after yesterday’s game, praising his performance against Rovers, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:

“A smile returned on his (McGinn) face. It didn’t take him very long. He is thick as thieves with Jack Grealish. They are very tight on the pitch, as well as on it. He’s a terrific player.”
Aston Villa take on Sheffield Wednesday next week, and they will need McGinn to be on top for again, if they are to leave south Yorkshire with maximum points.
