Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has said on beIN Sports that he would love it if Gareth Southgate would pick Jack Grealish for England more often.
Grealish was once again in wonderful form for Villa as they beat Arsenal 3-0 last night.
However, whether the creator will be backed to play for England over the upcoming international break remains to be seen.
Southgate has tended to overlook the Villa man so far, with Mason Mount often preferred by the Three Lions boss.
Villa fans have heavily criticised Southgate for his treatment of their captain, and Smith also suggests he would like to see the 25-year-old start more regularly for his country.
“Ah, it’s not my choice but I would love to,” Smith said, when asked if Grealish should be playing more for England.
“He’s a great player and great personality. He’s a breath of fresh air around this place and I think his performances are showing that.”

England face games against Ireland, Belgium and Iceland over the coming weeks – and Grealish will surely be given some game time in at least one of the fixtures.
Grealish earned a man of the match award last time he was selected to start, and if he puts in a performance of a similar quality again Southgate surely cannot keep leaving him out for too much longer.
