Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has suggested to The Express & Star that Albert Adomah will not be fit for the match against Queens Park Rangers this week.

Villa will take on QPR away from home at Loftus Road in the Championship on Friday evening.

Ghana international winger Adomah is injured at the moment, with the 30-year-old winger having picked up a knee injury against Norwich City on Tuesday evening.

Chelsea-owned striker Tammy Abraham suffered a blow to the head against the Canaries, but Villa manager Smith expects the 21-year-old striker to be fit for the encounter against Rangers.

“Albert has a knock on his knee,” Smith told The Express & Star. “It was a knee on knee. He hobbled out. It was a blow, that one, because I thought he was giving their full-back some real trouble.

“Tammy got a kick in the head. I am sure Tammy will be fine for Friday. Albert would probably be a worry.”

Bouncing back

Villa lost to Norwich away from home at Carrow Road in the Championship on Tuesday evening and will be determined to bounce back against QPR.

The Villans have the better team than Rangers, and Smith’s team will fancy their chances of picking up all three points at Loftus Road in London.

QPR are in good form at the moment, having got the better of Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday in their last two Championship matches.
