West Ham United are heavily linked with the Brentford ace.

Brentford boss Dean Smith has told Get West London that the Championship club has not received a bid for reported West Ham United target Jota.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with the Spanish attacker but West Ham seem to have the strongest link.

Jota of Brentford scores the second Brentford goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Brentford and QPR at Griffin Park on April 22, 2017 in Brentford, England.

The Sun reported at the weekend that the 26-year-old wants to join the Hammers and such interest is causing problems for lesser suitors such as Derby County who, being in the Championship, cannot offer what Slaven Bilic’s Premier League’s side can.

His future has been a subject of debate since the 2016-17 season finished, but Smith tells Get West London that no club has bid for his prized asset just yet.

“There has been no bid from anybody for Jota. That speculation can go where it was before,” the Bees boss confirmed,” he said.

“He’s been his normal smiley, intelligent football self and is looking forward to the game on Saturday.”

Spanish outlet AS reported in June that the Brentford star, whose contract expires next summer, is valued at around £8 million.
