Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on taking Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, who has starred for Dean Smith’s side this term.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has told the Daily Mail that he has not even spoken to Jack Grealish’s about the future, amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Sun have reported how Spurs are set to come in for Grealish, who could be available for £35 million if Villa fail to earn promotion.

However, Smith insists that Grealish is not even thinking about a move to White Hart Lane right now.

Villa take on Derby County in the Championship play off final on Monday.

And Smith has suggested Grealish will set Tottenham back a sizeable fee, if Villa are to lose at Wembley.

“He loves Aston Villa and he’ll want nothing more than to get promoted,” said Smith. “If we don’t go up he’ll cost someone a hell of a lot of money if they want to buy him.

“He’s signed a brand new contract at the start of the season. For me he is committed to Aston Villa and we’ve not even spoken about it otherwise.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side tried to sign Grealish last summer, but were unable to agree a deal with Villa.

The playmaker has gone from strength to strength at Villa Park this term, and has captained the claret and blues to play off final.

If Villa do beat Derby then Spurs’s task of taking Grealish will only become even tougher.
