Tottenham Hotspur will be preparing for their Champions League tie against Ajax on Wednesday.

Dean Saunders has remarkably claimed that Tottenham Hotspur should sign N’Golo Kante this summer despite the fact that he is one of Chelsea’s key players.

Maurizio Sarri has been playing Kante out of position throughout this campaign, with the two-time Premier League winner deploying a right-sided midfield role rather than his usual defensive position in the middle of the park.

But even the most ambitious of Spurs fans would agree that Kante potentially signing for Spurs would be a non-starter for a variety of reasons – one of the main reasons being that both teams are rivals.

Speaking to the Final Word on TalkSport (05/05/2019 at 6:35 pm), Saunders explained why Tottenham should sign Chelsea’s senior man.

“You know who I would sign? Kante,” Saunders told TalkSport. “His enthusiasm spreads, he’s got a winning mentality and that spreads. Every club he plays for they seem to win.

“He’s playing out of position right now. He might be available. If I was Manchester United or Spurs, I’d sign him. He’s playing out of position and won’t be happy. He’s such a good pro.”

For the past two transfer windows, Spurs haven’t dipped into the market for a player which showcases the remarkable job Mauricio Pochettino has done at the club.

Along with Chelsea, they have secured a top-four finish and guaranteed themselves Champions League football for the following campaign.

Added with that, they are in the semi-finals of the Champions League but need to overturn a one-goal deficit in Holand against Ajax if they are to reach the final.
