Dean Saunders has urged Liverpool to sign N’Golo Kante from Chelsea and added that he would ‘make them better’, as he told talkSPORT.

The former striker stated that Kante, who won the Man of the Match award when Chelsea beat Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final, would fit right into Liverpool’s midfield.

Kante has had an indifferent time in Chelsea colours this term, with injuries playing a part in his drop in form compared to previous campaigns.

Added with that, the 31-year-old is out-of-contract next summer, so there is always the possibility that Chelsea would be willing to sell if money was put on the table for the player this summer.

Saunders thinks someone like Kante would elevate this current Liverpool side that won the domestic double during the recently-concluded campaign.

“I was looking at players in our league who could make them better,” said Saunders.

“I think Kante would make them better. I think Kante could slot into that midfield.

They are a workman-like midfield. Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago, so I think somebody like Kante.”

KANTE ONE OF THE BEST MIDFIELDERS OF ALL TIME

A multiple Premier League winner, Champions League medal to his name and a World Cup winner.

When Kante hangs up his boots, and he has a long way to go yet, then he will go down as one of the best in his position.

Whilst this season hasn’t gone for him as planned, there was a time when the Frenchman could argue that he was the best in his position in the world.

With Chelsea’s new ownership coming in, even if Kante’s contract is running out, surely they don’t want to lose such a significant figure, especially knowing what he can produce when at his best.
