Dean Saunders has suggested on talkSPORT that Tammy Abraham should swap Chelsea for Aston Villa this summer.

Abraham joined Aston Villa on loan last summer and played a massive role in their Premier League promotion, netting 26 goals in the Championship.

Rumours of a permanent move have followed since Villa’s promotion but, according to The Mirror, the Blues will demand around £25 million for their young hitman.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is rumoured to be joining Juventus, and former Villans hitman Saunders says that the uncertainty at Stamford Bridge should make Abraham want to seal a permanent move to Villa, whom he reckons are a bigger club than the Premier League giants.

“Again they don’t fancy him at Chelsea but Dean Smith obviously likes him and to have a manager to have faith in him…who is going to be in charge of Chelsea? We don’t know,” he said on Alan Brazil’s sports breakfast show on talkSPORT [04/06/2019].

“Is he going to play for two games and leave him out? But at Villa they want him, they’re proud of him, they’re a massive club, actually a bigger club than Chelsea.”

Abraham didn’t set the Premier League alight during his loan at Swansea City a couple of seasons ago, but he is older and more experience now. He could be a phenomenal asset for Smith’s side next term, if they keep him that is.
