Dean Saunders has given his verdict on Declan Rice, who joined Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from David Moyes’s West Ham United in the summer of 2023.

The former Liverpool striker and talkSPORT pundit has said that Rice is world class.

So, what has Dean Saunders said about Arsenal and England international midfielder Declan Rice? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal star Declan Rice is ‘world class’

Well, Dean Saunders has said that Arsenal and England international midfielder Declan Rice would get into any team.

The former Liverpool striker made the comments on talkSPORT while speaking to a West Ham United fan.

Saunders was explaining to the West Ham supporter why David Moyes’s side are struggling in the middle of the park.

The Hammers were hammered by Arsenal in midweek, and on Saturday, they lost to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Rice joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals West Ham in the summer of 2023.

Saunders said on talkSPORT (5:51 pm, February 17, 2024): “The players he has brought in as decent players, but they ain’t getting into everyone else’s team.

“Declan Rice gets in everyone’s team. World class. I think you did well to hold on to him for as long as you did.”

My View: Declan Rice has made Arsenal a better team

In my opinion, Arsenal are a better team with Declan Rice in it. The 25-year-old has made the Gunners more solid and more combative in the middle of the park. He is very reliable.

Rice is very good at shielding the back-four, and he has done just that at Arsenal. The England international is also able to push the team forward and make good passes. Michael Owen rates him highly.

The midfielder has scored four goals and provided four assists in 25 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season.

Rice has also given one assist in five starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the North London club this campaign.
