Everton were linked with Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud during the January transfer window.

Everton were interested in signing Giroud in the summer transfer window, but they failed to get a deal over the line for the Arsenal forward.
Giroud has since been only handed a reserve role at Arsenal, but he has continued to score this term.

The French international forward netted a late equaliser in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Southampton at the weekend.
And Saunders claims that if Giroud had signed for Everton then they would not be struggling, like they are.
Saunders said: “I think if Everton signed him, they wouldn’t be in the mess they’re in.”

Everton have been in disappointing form this season, and currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League table.
The Toffees have improved of late, but they are still struggling to find a prolific scorer.
Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have played up-front for Everton this season, but neither of the pair have hit the back of the net frequently.
