Dean Saunders claims Wilfried Zaha isn’t good enough for Liverpool, but can get into Tottenham Hotspur’s XI

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha failed to find the back of the net against Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Dean Saunders has claimed that Wilfried Zaha wouldn’t be good enough to get into Liverpool’s team, but he would start for Tottenham.

The talkSPORT pundit claimed that Crystal Palace forward Zaha is ‘better than’ current Spurs playmaker Eric Lamela and he wouldn’t play for the Reds because of their front three.

Zaha, who scored at Arsenal during Palace’s 3-2 win on Sunday, has been in brilliant form for his London club this season.

Speaking to the Final Word on talkSPORT (21/04/2019 at 6:30 pm), Saunders spoke about which teams Zaha would be able to play for in the top-six.

“I don’t think he’ll get into Liverpool’s team because of their front three,” Saunders told talkSPORT. “He won’t get into Man City’s team. I think he’d get into Spurs’ team.

“He could play on the left. Kane up the middle and Son on the other side. Eriksen behind them and Dele Alli. He’s better than Lamela.”

During the early part of his career, Zaha moved to Manchester United, but his move coincided with Alex Ferguson’s retirement and Zaha never really got going at Old Trafford.

But since those days, there is no doubt that he has matured as a footballer and is a much better player both on the field and off the field.

Following that bad spell at United, the versatile attacker now seems more driven to prove his worth and potentially play at a higher level.
