TalkSport pundit duo Dean Saunders and Jamie O’Hara argued about the future of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, with the latter insisting he will not leave the club.

Former Wales striker Saunders stated that he ‘doesn’t care how loyal’ supporters think Kane is as he claimed that he won’t put up with Tottenham’s current situation for much longer.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side suffered heartache over the weekend when they were beaten in the Champions League final in Madrid, with Kane starting the encounter and failing to make an impact.

Speaking to the Final Word on TalkSport (02/06/2019 at 5:55 pm), Saunders and Kane shared their thoughts on Kane’s future at the North London club.

“What do you think Harry Kane is thinking right now when Daniel Sturridge is earning more money than him?” Saunders asked on TalkSport. O’Hara responded: “Listen there are far worse players earning more than Harry Kane.”

Saunders then added: “How long do you think he’s going to put up with that? Don’t care how loyal you think he is. He isn’t going to put up with that. If someone put £300k-a-week on the table and his wife is going to go ‘look at our kids, you can sort them out forever’. You cannot turn that down. Might break your leg tomorrow.

O’Hara then stated: “I am going to tell you right now, Harry Kane will not be leaving Tottenham Hotspur. He is the talisman of that football club. He is the man at that football club that brings everyone together. He is the leader. He is priceless. Forget wages, forget about wage demands, Tottenham will not sell him.”

It would be a big surprise if Kane were to depart the club given his relationship with the supporters and the fact that he has come through their academy.

The England international, who earns a reported 200k-a-week at Spurs [Spotract], will be very eager to win major trophies at his boyhood club.

But in order for Spurs to take the next step, they will need to invest in the transfer market to bulk up their squad, so they can sustain a proper challenge in every competition they participate in.
