Tottenham Hotspur have been thriving under Mauricio Pochettino’s management in recent seasons.

talkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders has claimed that Tottenham should ‘have a word’ with League Two side Newport County in building their new ground.

The Welsh club recently lost to Manchester City in the FA Cup at Rodney Parade as they seemingly built a new temporary stand to accommodate extra fans just like they did for their game against Spurs last season, as reported by BBC Sport.

Sky Sports reported on Monday that the London club will not be able to open their brand new 62,062-seater until April at the earliest.

Nonetheless, former Wales international Saunders, in what seemed like a jokeful tone, spoke about Tottenham’s new stadium and Newport’s new temporary stand.

“Whoever is building Tottenham’s ground, you want to have a word with people in Newport,” Saunders told The Final Word on TalkSport on 17/02/2019. “They built a stand in a week.

“There’s a big stand up there [against Manchester City]. It wasn’t there when they played Middlesbrough.”

The first grass pitch is laid at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium on October 5, 2018 in London, England.

Since Spurs have been building their new ground, they have been using England’s national stadium, Wembley to play Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League matches.

Most recently, they inflicted a 3-0 win over Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie, with Jan Vertonghen, Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente all getting on the scoresheet.

Nonetheless, Tottenham supporters will no doubt be eager to move into their new surroundings as they aim to push to the next level under their highly-rated coach Mauricio Pochettino.

They are sitting third in the Premier League table and are still in the knockout stages of the Champions League despite not buying any players during the recent winter and summer transfer windows.
