Former Norwich City striker Dean Ashton said on the EFL Show on Quest TV that Leeds United need not panic despite the loss at the weekend.

Leeds suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Norwich at Elland Road in the Championship this past Saturday evening.

It was Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s fourth defeat in six matches, and the West Yorkshire outfit are now second in the league table, level on points with the Canaries but behind on goal difference.

Former Norwich striker Ashton does not believe that Leeds have any cause for panic, and has predicted that the Whites will be challenging for promotion until the end of the season.

Ashton said on the EFL Show on Quest TV when asked if Leeds should now press the panic button: “Not at all, no, you don’t need to panic.

“I think they have got quality in the side, they have got character that they showed against Rotherham.

“You are going to go through these little patches where you lose games. I think they will come back just as strong and they will be right up there.”

Improvement needed

Despite Leeds being level on points with leaders Norwich, the Whites need to improve and have to put together a run of positive results.

The performances of the Whites in recent games have not been great, and their recent have been disappointing as well.

With Middlesbrough their next opponents, Leeds have the perfect chance to bounce back in style and send a strong message to their detractors.
