Former Norwich City and West Ham United striker Dean Ashton has praised Leeds United on the EFL Show on Quest TV for their performance against West Bromwich Albion last week.

Leeds hammered West Brom 4-0 at Elland Road in the Championship last Friday evening.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were the better team from start to finish, and the way they dismantled the Baggies – who are also aiming for automatic promotion to the Premier League – has sent a strong message to the rest of the teams in the division.

Ashton was impressed with the performance of Leeds, and he has also praised the fact that head coach Marcelo Bielsa played the same team thrice in a row in the space of a week.

“They were outstanding,” Ashton said about Leeds on the EFL Show on Quest TV. “Their energy levels, intensity, right from the kickoff was superb. It was one of the best performances they have had all season.

“And to pick the same team three times in a week, for them to go out and perform like that, I think says a lot about what the manager said to them.”
