talkSPORT pundit Dean Ashton has boldly stated that Tottenham Hotspur won’t finish in the Premier League’s top four at the end of the season.

The former Hammers striker feels that Spurs’ commitments in the Champions League and their current injury list is the reason behind why they will drop out.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will host Brighton at their new stadium on Tuesday night knowing three more points will edge them closer to secure European football next term.

But speaking to The Final Word on talkSPORT (21/04/2019 at 6:35 pm), Ashton thinks Tottenham will miss out on a top-four place to one of their London neighbours.

“I think it will be Arsenal or Chelsea [in the top four],” Ashton told talkSPORT. “I think they’ll drop out because of the Champions League commitments and the injury list they have got.”

Premier League football and finishing in the top four won’t be the only thing on Tottenham supporters minds because they have a chance of making history.

They are in the last four of the Champions League where Ajax await. The Dutch giants have produced some outstanding displays in the competition this term, including knocking out Real Madrid and Juventus.

If the North London club do progress to the final then it could potentially be an all English final with Liverpool taking on Barcelona in the other semi-final.
