Joe Hart has paid tribute to Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Son Heung-min who looked ‘dead on his feet’ during last night’s win.

Spurs moved into the next round of Europa League qualifying by beating Shkendija Tetovo 3-1.

And it was a goal from the Tottenham attacker on 70 minutes which helped to spare the North Londoners’ blushes, after the minnows equalised quarter-of-an-hour earlier.

With a rigourous and unrelenting schedule, this was the Lilywhites’ fourth competitive game in the space of 11 days – and Son has played every single minute of those games.

And Hart admitted in an interview via the club’s official Twitter account afterwards that the South Korean forward looked exhausted.

He said: “I know people say you get paid to play football but it [the fixture congestion] is tough and it’s a big ask. Someone like Sonny looked dead on his feet tonight and he still scored the winner for us.”

Son also managed 90 minutes in a 2-1 defeat by Watford shortly before the Premier League season started.

And with seconds to go in that one, the former Bayer Leverkusen star sprinted the length of the field to clear a ball off the goal line, even though it was a friendly.

That right there sums up his character and even though he looked tired last night, Son was never going to stop running.

Jose Mourinho’s side have three more games in a 10-day period – home to Newcastle on Sunday, home to Maccabi Haifa in another Europa League game next Thursday and then away to Manchester United on the Sunday.
