Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has revealed when he expects summer signing Ander Herrera to be back playing again.
The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder suffered an ankle injury during preparations for the Premier League match against Sunderland, and the 25-year-old has been side-lined since.
During that time United have drawn with the Black Cats and Burnley, been eliminated from the League Cup by MK Dons, and shocked the footballing world by bringing in Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao.
But De Gea has revealed that his countryman should be back in action for the league game against Queens Park Rangers on September 14, a game that is also expected to mark the debut for a number of summer signings.
In quotes published by The Sport Review, the United goalkeeper said of Herrera, “He’s not 100 per cent but for the next game he will be ready.”
That game is the home match against Harry Redknapp’s QPR, a game that could signal the return of attacking (and winning) football at Old Trafford following too many disappointments and defeats.
