Reported West Bromwich Albion target Richard O’Donnell has joined Bradford City from Northampton Town.

Bradford announced the goalkeeper’s signing on a two-year deal on Wednesday.

That is despite the Sun reporting earlier this week that O’Donnell was set to join West Brom as a replacement for Boaz Myhill – with the Yorkshireman known to Baggies coach Neil Culter from their Walsall days.

O’Donnell only signed for Northampton from Rotherham United in January and moves on a free transfer despite having two years left on his contract, which contained a relegation clause.

The switch brings O’Donnell closer to his roots, having started his career with hometown team Sheffield Wednesday.

West Brom are releasing Myhill at the end of his deal this month, but still count Ben Foster among their options in goal.

Would O’Donnell have been a good addition for West Brom?
