Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Leicester City closing in on a move for Southampton defender Jannick Vestergaard.
Sky Sports have reported that the Saints have accepted an offer of £15 million from the Foxes for their 29-year-old centre-back.
Whilst Vestergaard will now prepare for life at the King Power Stadium next season, he was someone who was also being looked at by Spurs this summer.
Tottenham will now miss out on the towering player, who will play Europa League football under Brendan Rodgers stewardship rather than in the newly-formed Europa Conference league had he moved to North London.
Spurs fans have shared that they wanted their club to sign Vestergaard and they think Leicester are getting a pretty good deal for the Euro 2020 semi-finalist.
If it wasn’t for Wesley Fofana’s injury in pre-season, then the Midlands outfit wouldn’t have been pushing for Vestergaard’s services.
But whilst Spurs have missed out on one Southampton player, there is another they could sign in James Ward-Prowse.
He is another name that has popped up, as those from the South Coast are on some sort of selling spree this summer.
Danny Ings left for Aston Villa, Vestergaard will soon join last season’s FA Cup winners and their boyhood fan could now follow suit.
Either way, with Cristian Romero being the only centre-back Spurs have brought in this summer, some feel another player needs to be added.
Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon are the other centre-backs Nuno Espirito Santo can choose from ahead of the new Premier League season.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to the Vestergaard rumours:
