Some Norwich City supporters think a player they signed from Sunderland this summer could be better than one they sold to Newcastle United.

Bali Mumba moved to Norwich in a £350,000 deal, having made just 10 appearances for the Sunderland first-team after graduating the Wearside club’s academy.

Mumba played mostly in midfield for the Mackems, but has begun his Canaries career as a full-back – the position from which Daniel Farke’s side lost Jamal Lewis to Newcastle in the same transfer window.

And after his cameo against Swansea City at the weekend, several of a Norwich persuasion think that their side could have got the better deal – despite Newcastle having paid around 42 TIMES more for Lewis.

Mumba’s appearance was only his third for Norwich and he has 97 to go before catching up with Lewis – a product of the Canaries’ youth system.

Lewis, who was linked with a move to Liverpool before Newcastle came calling, has started all but one of Sunderland’s rivals’ eight Premier League matches this season.
