Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has told Football.London that he ‘never’ considered leaving the club in the January window.
The Colombian ace was tipped for a huge future after Mauricio Pochettino pushed for a massive £42million move from Ajax in the summer of 2017, but his Spurs career has been full of ups and downs.
He was a regular under Jose Mourinho early in the season, but found first-team football harder to come by after the stunning collapse in the 3-3 draw with West Ham United.
Sanchez suddenly found it difficult to break back into the side, and The Sun reported that AC Milan were looking into the possibility of a big-money January deal.
That didn’t happen, and Mourinho has now reintegrated Sanchez back into his side, with the defender starting Tottenham’s last six Premier League games.
Sanchez has now claimed that he ‘never’ thought about leaving Tottenham in January, trusting in the nature of football in that he would get a chance to bounce back again.

The 24-year-old added that he never indicated that he had to play or that Spurs lost games because he wasn’t playing, suggesting that he was just looking to be the ideal team player.
“Never! Never! Football is that way and it gives you the chance to bounce back in these situations,” said Sanchez. “That’s what happened. Also I didn’t think that I had to play because I was playing before. No, no, I never said that.”
“We all have that moment. You just have to be helpful and supportive and of course knowing that when I am recalled I’ll get back at my best so the team is going to be there for me too. I can’t expect that the team will be losing because I wasn’t playing. That’s never come from me,” he added.
