Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez shut-out both Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez’s performance against Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero on Saturday evening was further proof that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have a potential world-class talent in their ranks.
Sanchez enjoyed a wonderful first season at Tottenham after signing from Ajax, but his progress slowed slighted last term.
Pochettino’s decision to generally use a four-man defence saw Sanchez demoted to being a back-up option to both Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino now must be careful not to underuse Sanchez, as the Colombian could turn into one of the best centre-backs in the world if he fulfils his potential.
Sanchez was rock-solid for Colombia on Saturday as he thwarted Argentina’s collection of brilliant attacking talents, and it serves as a reminder of his quality.

Sanchez may currently have flaws in his game, but it very easy to forget that the Spurs man is just 23.
There are very few centre-backs who show such promise at such a young age as Sanchez, and he really could become a star at Spurs.
Sanchez has so much power and power he is a very hard obstacle for opponents to get past.
And with Vertonghen and Alderweireld both being on the wrong side of 30, Pochettino would be wise to give Sanchez much more game time next season at Tottenham, as he is simply too good to be kept as a reserve option.
