Celtic have made a flying start to life under Brendan Rodgers.
Pundit Davie Provan has told The Scottish Sun that he feels Brendan Rodgers is ‘calling his own shots’ at Celtic – unlike predecessor Ronny Deila.
Celtic went into the international break off the back of a 3-0 home win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle, whilst just days before that win, they drew 1-1 away at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

That means that Rodgers has lost just four of his 24 games in charge of Celtic, winning 16 with a stunning goal difference of +29 already.
The Northern Irishman is showing why Celtic pushed the boat out to land Rodgers over the summer, with the former Liverpool boss still unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and seemingly set to lead the Bhoys to another league title this season.
Rodgers has earned plenty of plaudits since making the move to boyhood club Celtic, and former Bhoys winger Davie Provan has joined in with the acclaim.
Former Celtic manager Ronny Deila
Provan, often a pundit on Sky Sports, spoke to The Scottish Sun about Rodgers, suggesting that he didn’t exactly understand what Rodgers meant when he suggested that Celtic played with ‘personality’ against Borussia Monchengladbach, but was delighted with the display.
Provan also looked at the difference between Rodgers and predecessor Ronny Deila, who did win two successive league titles, but his Celtic side was often unconvincing, particularly in Europe.
Provan suggested that Rodgers is ‘calling his own shots’ unlike Deila, and thinks Celtic fans will be hoping that Rodgers will reject a move back to the Premier League in favour of staying at Celtic Park.
General view of Celtic Park
“I don’t know what Brendan Rodgers meant when he said Celtic played with “personality” against Borussia Monchengladbach,” said Provan. “But whatever it was, it worked a treat against a very decent German outfit.”
“Unlike Ronny Deila, who was a puppet for the Hoops board, Rodgers is calling his own shots and doing little wrong. Hoops punters have to hope he’ll resist the lure of England’s Premier League long enough to see the job through,” he added.
