The right-back left the Scottish Premiership side and joined Championship outfit Barnsley.

Davie Hay has told the Evening Times that Saidy Janko made the right call deciding to leave Celtic on loan after his horror show in Israel.
The full-back has made seven appearances for the Hoops already this term, but was allowed to join Barnsley on the final day of the transfer window after he endured a difficult night against Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Champions League qualifiers.

The 20-year-old gave away a penalty – while the challenge appeared to take place outside of the box, the tackle was nonetheless, clumsy – and was largely responsible for Hapoel’s second goal after needlessly colliding with Craig Gordon.
And Hay has suggested that Janko has made a smart move.
“Saidy Janko has done the right thing in making the switch down to Barnsley because I think we could all appreciate just how exposed he was in that game against Hapoel Be’er Sheva over in Israel,” he told the Evening Times.
With Mikael Lustig likely to be the side’s regular right-back, and with a cluster of centre-backs more than capable of filling in when the Swede is unavailable, it is very possible that had Janko stuck around, Brendan Rodgers would have been able to keep out of the first-team.
Moving to Oakwell and playing in the Championship will see the former Manchester United trainee put under considerably less pressure than if he had stayed in the Scottish Premiership and potentially featured in the group-stages of the Champions League, and that may allow the Swiss to find his best form ahead of his return next summer.
