Celtic have enjoyed a brilliant season, but Davie Hay has urged Brendan Rodgers to make some further signings this summer.

Former Celtic player and manager Davie Hay believes that the Hoops would be wise to add a new midfielder and another striker to their ranks this summer, the Evening Times reports.
The Bhoys have enjoyed a brilliant campaign and look to be on the verge of securing the Scottish Premiership title to add to their League Cup triumph, while the Scottish Cup semi-final is also on the horizon.
The next step is arguably to make more of an impact in the Champions League while also maintaining their domestic dominance. And Hay explained that bolstering their options in the middle of the park – largely due to the form of Nir Bitton – and up front, in preparation for potential interest in Moussa Dembele, could be a wise decision.
“Tom Rogic has had his injury problems, and Nir Bitton can be a little inconsistent as was exemplified by his performance when he was substituted at half-time against Rangers, so I think that another good midfielder to provide some further competition can only be a good thing,” he told the Evening Times.

“Another area which I feel needs addressed, even though it may not seem obvious on the face of it, is in the striking department.
“Moussa Dembele is obviously the man in possession of the jersey up top, and what a job he has done this season, and then you have Leigh Griffiths waiting in the wings too who got 40 goals last season.
“But Dembele is inevitably attracting attention, and while I don’t think he will leave, it would be sensible to have a contingency plan in place should that happen.”

Celtic may not have picked up a win during their Champions League group-stage campaign this season, but they arguably gave a good account of themselves on a number of occasions given that they were drawn in a particularly tough group with Barcelona and Manchester City joining them.
But given the amount of progress they have made in a short space of time under Brendan Rodgers, it would surely be fair to suggest that with a few smart additions, they will do an even greater job of making an impact in the continental competition next season.
