Celtic have arguably the two most dangerous strikers in Scottish football amongst their ranks at Parkhead.

Celtic's Northern Irish manager Brendan Rodgers (L) speaks with Celtic's French midfielder Odsonne Edouard (R) at the start of a training session at their Lennoxtown facility, north of...

Davie Hay raved about the quality of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, when writing a column for the Glasgow Evening Times, suggesting that the 20-year-old could turn out to be an even better prospect than Moussa Dembele at Parkhead.

Edouard joined the Hoops from Paris Saint Germain last summer on a season long loan, before making his switch a permanent one this summer, for a fee that could eventually rise to £10 million.

The Frenchman has showcased outstanding quality during his time with Celtic, scoring 12 goals in 31 games, with more than half of those appearances coming from the bench.

He is obviously a wonderfully talented player, and Brendan Rodgers seems to have a real star of the future amongst his ranks at Parkhead.

Hay, who won five league titles with the Hoops, offered high words of praise for Edouard, when writing a column for the Glasgow Evening Times, suggesting that he could actually be an even better prospect than Moussa Dembele:

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“I never thought I would be saying this, but I think Odsonne Edouard is going to turn out to be an even better prospect than Moussa Dembele. I am a massive fan of Dembele and have been ever since he arrived at Celtic. He is already a star and will go on to achieve great things in the game I’m sure. Dembele has got pace and power, but Edouard showed all the qualities of a top, top striker against Rosenborg. He too has got pace and power, he’s got conviction, and as his two finished on the night amply demonstrated, he has got composure in his finishing.”

Celtic head into the new Scottish Premiership campaign looking to win their eighth consecutive league title, and having Edouard and Dembele to call upon must fill Brendan Rodgers with confidence in his side.

It would take a brave man to bet against them romping the league once again this term, that’s for sure.
