Aberdeen did pull a goal back in injury time, but it was not enough to stop Rangers collecting the three points.
And Weir has praised Rangers fans on social media for helping their side get across the line in the fixture.
Rangers have now climbed above Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership standings, but they remain eight points behind league leaders Celtic.
Warburton’s side are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Hearts.
