Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers side have signed Clint Hill on a free in the summer transfer window.
Rangers assistant manager David Weir has outlined to The Glasgow Evening Times what the club’s fans can expect from new signing Clint Hill.
Hill has joined Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers on a free transfer after leaving Queens Park Rangers at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The defender is 37 years of age and is past his prime, and many Rangers fans will ask why the club have recruited him.
Weir has explained what Hill will bring to the team and what the Ibrox faithful can expect from him.
“He wears his heart on his sleeve, and I think that supporters will enjoy that about him,” Weir told The Glasgow Evening Times about Hill.
“He’s going to be an important member of our squad for us when we go up back into the Premier League.”
Hill is 37 years of age, and many Rangers fans will question how much of an impact he would be able to make on the team in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Stoke City and Crystal Palace defender has a lot of experience, though, and that will be important for Rangers, as they return to the top flight of Scottish football.
Mark Warburton’s side will be aiming to compete for the Scottish Premiership title with Old Firm rivals Celtic next season.
Rangers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window, signing Hill and former QPR midfielder Joey Barton among others already.
