Newcastle take on Burton in their next Championship game.

Quoted by the Chronicle, Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has warned Newcastle United that they face a tough task against Burton Albion.

The Magpies are currently top of the Championship table after an impressive first half of the campaign.

They returned to winning ways in midweek as they secured a 2-0 win away to Wigan on Wednesday.

Their next game sees them travelling away to Burton Albion, who currently sit 21st in the table and just two points outside the relegation zone.

They will be favourites to come away with all three points from the clash and continue their push for promotion but Wagner has a warning for them about their opponents.

“Everybody knew before, and I think it will be the same in the future as well, that Burton away is a difficult place to go and be successful,” the Chronicle reports him saying.

“It’s a different quality compared to other teams, but the fighting and the working attitude, especially here with the home atmosphere, is extraordinary.”

“You have to be prepared for this special circumstance. That is difficult to be fair.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how Newcastle United do in this game after their performances this season.

They have largely been perfect in how they have played and that shows in their position at the top of the table.

However, they have come unstuck against some teams, notably Wolves, who are struggling themselves and that gives Burton a chance of pulling off an upset.
